The Nether Update is here
Hey all! I hope you are doing well! After hundreds of hours of development, the Arcturus Nether Update is here. This is the biggest update that I (Josh) have ever made on a Minecraft server.
Overview (As of this post's release)
Added the NetherWorld, a world filled to the brim with evil monsters!
- Added new Items!
- Added new gear!
- Added Ancient Nether Armor
- Added Tough Iron Armor
- Added Crimson and Warped Armor
- Added the Red Obsidian Blade
- Added the Fang Blade
- Added the Inferno Blade
- Added the Blood Dagger*
- Added Bone Armor
- Redid Vanilla Gear
- Item Bonuses!
- Certain sets of armor have special perks when used together
under certain conditions! The perk will be displayed on the piece
of armor. - Certain weapons are more powerful under certain conditions
- Certain sets of armor have special perks when used together
- Added Artifacts, such as:
- Added Arrowheads
- Added Pyrite
- Added Rusted Sword
- Added artifacts with special properties
- (These items will soon be naturally obtainable in the world)

- Added New Mobs!
- Added the Obsidian Skeleton, an incredibly tough enemy. You’ll want to use your TelePasses here.

- Added Crimson & Warped Wonderers
- Added Obsidian Minion
- Absolute Health & Damage Overhaul
- Health and damage are now handled by the Armory system, a damage system
designed specifically for Arcturus. This system works well with the rest
of the new mechanics. - The enchantment system is still in the works. This will discussed more at some point in the near future.

- New Vendor! The Quest Master
- Not that quest master! There is a quest master in the NetherWorld who focuses on Nether Related quests! His quests are more difficult but offer much greater rewards.
- New Shop & Vendor! The Nether Explorer
- This new vendor can be found at the Marketplace.
- New Loot Crates!
- Added the Archaeology crate! This can be found at the Crate Shop*
- Added the Nether crate! This can be found at the Crate Shop*
- Added the Quick Nether crate! This crate is the same as the Nether Crate, but it
- New commands
- New teleport sharing commands (plus some fun features!*)
- New status command (/me), this command displays a ton of information about
your character. - New credits command (/credits), this command gives all the helpers and supporters of this server the credit they deserve. <3
- Players can now only hold up to 3 quests at a time.
- TECHNICAL CHANGES
- Tweaked some things to make the server run better.
- Added Support for 1.18
- TEST Changed the render distance from 6 to 8.
- TEST Increased the number of allowed mobs on the server.
- Added a Custom Item inspection system. This system will check for
out-of-date and cheated items.
Winter Festival Overview
Alongside the Nether Update, we have updated the server just in time for the holidays! You won’t want to miss out on this event!
- Winter has arrived at Pheonix Island! The island is covered with snow! The villagers have also decorated the island for the holidays!
- Christmas music now plays in the lobby.
- Introduced the Holiday Pass. This pass is a 100% free pass which contains exclusive holiday items.
- Added Holiday Pass challenges (quests)
- Added the Empowered Snowman, a derpy little dude who packs a punch!
- You can now find Christmas presents by killing Empowered mobs.
- Introduce Santa. You can buy Christmas items from this limited-time-only NPC.
- Added Event Credits. A special event currency that can be used to buy special event items.
- Introduced the 2021 Santa Head. A limited-time player-head that is ONLY unlockable by completing the Holiday Pass.
- You will now hear a bell ring at spawn every hour.
- Added Holiday Pass XP for player progression.
This event starts on release day (12/04/2021), and will end at the start of the New Year (01/01/2022).
This is a basic overview of the new update, there will be changes that are introduced as this update rolls out, hopefully, you guys have as much fun playing it as I have had to make it!
Of course, there are some things that have been left out in this post, but these are the basic changes.
